When Tom Fee was only 5 years old, playing with army men on the living room floor, he overheard his mother remark to a neighbor "Children have such imaginations."
Little Tommy thought to himself "What happens when you grow up? Do you lose your imagination? Well, I'm never going to lose MY imagination." Tommy had no idea at the time what kind of effect setting this intention would have on the rest of his life.
Since then, Tommy has known what he wanted to do with his life from a very early age. His father knew this was a sign of a child prodigy.
Tom started drawing when he was 9 years old, sketching cars and comic book heros. He quickly became bored with stick figures and balloons for muscles, and started studying anatomy at the age of 10. In the sixth grade, his art teacher told his parents he was working at a 12th grade level. From then on, Tom was determined to maintain his genius, and stay ahead of the pack, whatever it took.
Since then, Tom has been exposed to a world full of awesomely talented artists, a humbling yet inspiring experience. Tom, however, took to the challenge with imagination and determination.
As a professional, Tom worked for ten years as an Art Director, Designer and Creative Director in small design studios that stressed a custom approach to visuals, promotions and branding / identity programs, becoming eventually the "go-to" guy when it came to developing logos and corporate identity systems for a myriad of professional clients.
With the generous help of some excellent mentors along the way, Tom engaged himself in the process of learning every aspect of the inner workings of a full service studio, with an eye toward his future goals of running his own business.
Tom Fee went independent in 1990, opening Tom Fee Graphic Design, with the purpose of serving small and medium sized businesses typically unable to afford the services of a larger advertising agency. From 1990 to the present, Tom has created print and collateral materials for end clients and Dallas metroplex advertising agencies.
In over 25 years in the advertising industry, Tom has developed and fine-tuned his illustrative talents with rough conceptual art, finished digital applied illustrations, traditional media, and all forms of information graphics.
In all this time, Tom has learned the value of a strong work ethic. His ideals of fairness, service and excellence are evident in everything he undertakes. Tom has established a business built on a firm foundation of trust through personal relationships. The professional referrals that Tom enjoys naturally grow from a strong sense of personal commitment. His professional approach permeates every aspect of his business.
One comment Tom repeatedly receives from clients is "That's exactly what I was thinking!" As an image specialist, fluent in visual communication, Tom's approach is to translate your marketing concept into the perfect, most appropriate image. To Tom, the true measure of creativity is that if it communicates the story that clients want to tell, in the simplest, most effective visual terms, and really sells, then we are successful.
